Product Overview

This Adaptive Recovery Sweatshirt is designed to make dressing easier and more comfortable during surgery recovery, upper body injuries, or limited mobility. Thoughtfully engineered for real recovery moments, it reduces strain on the shoulders, arms, and upper body while maintaining the look and feel of an everyday sweatshirt.

Unlike traditional recovery clothing made for short-term use, this sweatshirt is built to last well beyond healing. Its integrated, discreet adaptive design allows it to be worn as a regular sweatshirt even after recovery. Soft, comfortable, and easy to wear, this gender-neutral piece supports both independent and caregiver-assisted dressing during recovery, then transitions seamlessly into everyday life, eliminating the need to replace it once healing is complete.

How to Wear on Your Own

Before you start

Sit in a stable chair and take your time.

Step 1 Prepare the injured side

Unzip the bottom zipper on the injured side completely.

Unzip the top zipper, leaving it zipped to about shoulder length.

Step 2 Remove arm from sling

Slowly and carefully take the injured arm out of the sling. Keep movements small and controlled.

Step 3 Insert injured arm

Guide the injured arm through the opened sleeve created by the unzipped zippers. Let the garment support the arm rather than lifting it.

Step 4 Put on the rest of the garment

Place the head through the neckline.

Insert the non-injured arm into the other sleeve.

Step 5 Adjust zippers

Zip the top zipper closed.

The bottom zipper may remain open if the wearer needs to slide the arm back out to put the sling on.

Once the sling is in place, zip the bottom zipper if comfortable.

How Caregivers Can Help

Step 1 Prepare the garment

Fully unzip both the top zipper and the bottom zipper on the injured side so the sleeve opens completely from shoulder to cuff.

Step 2 Keep the sling on

The wearer does not need to remove their sling. Keep the injured arm supported throughout the process.

Step 3 Position the garment

Gently pull the garment down over the wearer’s head and shoulders.

Guide the open sleeve around the injured arm without lifting or rotating it.

Step 4 Connect the sleeve

Use the magnetic zipper ends to align and connect the zipper easily around the arm.

Step 5 Zip and adjust

Zip the sleeve closed smoothly from bottom to top.

Check that the garment sits comfortably before finishing any final adjustments.

    Instructions help

I bought this sweatshirt while recovering from an elbow injury, and I was genuinely surprised by how much it helped. What stood out immediately were the instructions. They were incredibly clear and thoughtful, and for the first time I felt confident putting something on without guessing or worrying I’d hurt myself.
